Brighton

The City of Brighton, nestled in the pretty Sussex countryside also incorporates the seaside town of Hove and so is known as the City of Brighton and Hove. Brighton is a cosmopolitan, trendy and fun British seaside resort boasting a huge variety of attractions and is only an hour train ride from London.

There are a host of restaurants, hotels, bed and breakfasts, self catering apartments or houses and an extensive range of nightlife including nightclubs, bars and bistros. Getting around the city is easy by bus, but with many of its attractions within walking distance of each other, part of the joy of visiting the city is strolling around the many pedestrianised areas.

Brighton is a veritable shopper's paradise with its indoor shopping mall, pedestrianised areas, North Laine (home to over 300 unusual and original little shops) and the Lanes area, with its trendy bars, bistros, and small shops situated in narrow alleyways.

Brighton is a city of white Regency style houses, including the Regency Townhouse, a listed building from the 1820s, which paints a picture of life in Regency Brighton. A must see is the Royal Pavilion, the summer house of George IV and reminiscent of the Taj Mahal .

A traditional English seaside town, Brighton has its very own pier which is a hive of fun and entertainment from arcade games, fair rides and traditional stalls to thrilling rides including the Super Booster. Once you've tired yourself out, why not enjoy traditional English Fish and chips followed by ice cream or visit one of the other restaurants and bars – you can even exercise your vocal cords with some Karaoke.

There are so many things to do in Brighton. Treat the family to a trip to the Sealife Centre or stroll along Brighton promenade which stretches between the pier and the old West Pier. Children and adults will enjoy paddling in the sea and lazing on the beach.

Travel in style from the Pier to Brighton Marina on Volk's Electric Railway, past the beautiful white regency townhouses on Brighton's seafront. Enjoy water sports at the largest marina in the UK or take a tour around the harbour. You can relax in one of the many cafes or restaurants, take in a film at the cinema or get lucky at the casino. There is also a variety of shops to browse around. One thing's for sure – you won't get bored!

For art and culture, visit the Artists' Quarter situated between Brighton and Hove where you can buy a memento of your stay or explore the many art galleries and museums.

Brighton is known for its lively arts scene and Gay scene. Visit the Kemptown area for the very best world famous Gay bars and clubs. Enjoy theatre and opera in the city, and live music at the Brighton Centre and Brighton Dome. Small bars and clubs offer diverse live music from local bands and the city has many nightclubs. It even has its own festival, The Brighton Festival, and fringe festival.

While visiting Brighton why not make the most of the beautiful Sussex countryside. Visit Nyman's Gardens and Leonardslee Lake and Gardens. If you prefer history there are many stately homes and castles to visit including Hever Castle, Arundel Castle, Great Dixter, Parham and Standen.

Enjoy your stay in this wonderful seaside resort.
