Brighton tourist information

Brighton hostels and budget accommodation

As little as £3 can buy you an hour-long train ride from London to Brighton, the capitol of British beachfronts. The city center is only one square mile, making it far smaller than most European destinations, but there is no lack of charm along the promenades and beachfront, where most of the city's best hostels are conveniently located.

St. Christopher's at the Palace Hotel is a great place where you can enjoy the charm of Brighton for a mere $15. Located near the Brighton Pier, the Marina and the bars and cafes of the Promenade, St. Christopher's is the perfect place to stay to ensure you don't miss any of the East Sussex coastline. Grab a drink at the hostel's own Belushi's Bar where you can watch sports and get exclusive drink deals. Nearby are The Lanes, the shopping center of Brighton where you can meet artists and get their one-of-a-kind wares, just minutes from the beach.

A block away from the beach is SoBo Brighton, a budget hotel where you can spend the night for just $13. SoBo is good for those who want easy access to the city center, just a 15-minute walk away, and wish to avoid the rambunctious central nightlife. The building is located on a historic residential street that embodies the charm of Brighton. The hostel is laid back and can be an ideal place to pick up a book or a movie and enjoy the atmosphere of the beach.

For a more central spot, you might try Kipps Brighton, one of the city's most consistently popular hostels. Kipps is close to all of the city's main attractions, including The Lanes, Brighton Pier, the theaters and the Gay District. Kipps tends to be a bit more expensive, costing around $26 for a dorm room bed, but it has a bar with a terrace, a lounge, and it offers cheap breakfast so that you can start your exciting beach and shopping day in England's most popular beach town.
